INTO THE WILD

Jungle Patterned High Waisted Maxi Skirt

$4

Screen Shot 2014-10-22 at 9.40.29 amThis has to be one of my favourite pre-loved items in my wardrobe! I love the colours, the length and shape. It sits snuggly around the waist and flares out wonderfully. It’s great in summer with a simple tank and wonderful in winter with a cropped jacket and ankle boots. It’s actually great as part of a work outfit, with a nice cropped blazer! But what i really like most about this skirt is it’s personality and life. I know! Saying that a skirt has a personality sounds bonkers, but hear me out! This skirt has so much bounce and vibrance, matched with amazing colours and an earthy jungle pattern. It makes me feel fabulous when i wear it. And thats the mark of a great item of clothing. I picked it up at an estate sale a few weekends ago. Great find!

CLEAN CUT GOODNESS

Orange and White Cropped Shirt

Screen Shot 2014-10-22 at 9.23.40 amFirstly, it’s been such a long while since I’ve posted on my blog. I was oversees for a while, followed by a pretty bad flu which knocked my out for a while. Anyway, i’m back now…so here we go! This shirt was donated to me by a friend who bought it but didn’t quite like the shape. I love it! It’s so beautifully cut around the arms and neckline and features a burnt orange vintage pattern. It’s cropped, so i usually wear it with something high waisted. Like most people, there are parts of my body which i don’t totally love but this shirt flaunts the parts i do like…and that really is the key to looking and feeling great!

THE GREAT UNKNOWN

Black and Floral Blazer/Top/Cardigan…Thing

$3

Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 9.03.46 PMI really don’t know what this item of clothing is. It’s not really a blazer or a cardigan or anything else. But it is beautiful! It has a slightly oriental style, which is a look i really love. And like always, i do like smashing two styles together so i’ve paired this vintage oriental top with an ultra modern chunky two toned chain. This top is also great for work! It’s so light but conservative and stylish. It really is a multipurpose item. And all for less than a price of a coffee. Yep.

KICK UP YOUR HEELS

Cobalt Blue / Lace Up Shoes

$12

shoesI absolutely love these shoes! Well worth the $12 price tag. This season has become all about the lace up boot for me, and these were very welcome to my collection. I love the colour and matching laces and the cut of these boots. Despite their platform, they’re easy to walk in (within reason, of course! Ha!). I think i like the heels best, they’re wooden and quite gritty, and gives them a old school style.

BLAZE OF FIRE!

Pink Blazer

$4.50

Screen Shot 2014-09-10 at 8.21.30 PMQuite a nice find! This blazer seems to work very well with my style. It’s loose fitting and can easily be thrown over a shirt or dress. I love the colour and it can be worn as part of a work or play outfit. WIN-WIN!

FLOWER CHILD

Sky Blue Floral Dress

$8

Black Velvet Vest

$4

Screen Shot 2014-09-06 at 4.26.44 PMWhat would the world be without be a little bit of floral? I bought the dress and vest from the same op-shop for a combined price of $12 and i think they both work really well together. As someone that’s quite fond of all things vintage, i loved the dress when i saw it. The pattern and colours are stunning. However, as i’m fair and naturally blonde i was worried it would make me look too ‘cute’. Not that it’s a bad look generally, it simply doesn’t suit me.  The black vest and belt break this outfit up and smash together some old school floral with some contemporary back edge. Perfecto!

collageAnd i’ll give credit where credit is due. I originally saw this style in a photo snapped of Lucy Hale….

LOOKING ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

Yellow Summer Dress

$6

yellow f=drrss]Great dress, plain and simple…and yellow. I haven’t worn it out yet, i’ll need to wait until summer for that one. I like the frill around the waist, it’s very flattering and adds a touch of detail. This one was bought in a sydney city op-shop, at a very kind $6. On that day i bought this dress and a cup of coffee for about $10. Looking good for less!

PUMP IT UP

Black and White / Striped Pumps

$5

black and white shoes

What a great pair of pumps! I picked these up at my local Salvos store for a cosy $5. They’re in perfect condition and as far as i can tell were never worn. The ankle straps are what really makes this shoe i think. Every time i wear these shoes i reminisce about the timeless style of one particular fair lady…..

WHAT A WAIST!

Black and White / Block Dress

$7

Untitled I thought i would have to wait until summer to test drive this dress but I recently wore it with black stockings, heeled ankle boots and a red coat. And it did not disappoint. As someone with a slender and curvy figure, i loved (really loved!) the cut of this dress. Very flattering. I also like how versatile this dress can be. I played with belts and necklaces and it changed the look completely. It seems like a dozen dresses in one, not bad for $7. This dress is a perfect justification for wearing pre-loved clothing. Regardless if you like this dress or not, i felt great. And isn’t that just the point of it all!

NO PLACE LIKE OXFORD

Winter Look / Vintage Oxford Heels + Ribbon Laces

It’s winter down under and these navy Oxfords are frequently hitting the pavement. Great with jeans at the pub, the winter dress and the workplace pencil skirt.
